ta da!

Its done. Thank God! I am very happy with it. Its not perfect but I'm not a professional & it was the biggest thing I've ever done. I did my best.

So you've seen the before.
Here's a bit of the during. And the after. Unfortunately the before picture doesn't really capture the details of how gross this piece was. Trust me when I say its better now. Even if you don't care for the dark finish, at least you can tell its wood.
AND, I got my FFF fabric yesterday. Yesterday was a good day.

I've also decided that I am frogging my ripples.

just stuff

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. Mine was good, thanks. A little shopping, a little doing. I went by The Cottage on Friday. Picked up a yellow window pane & a birdy stake. Hard to photograph but trust me he's cute. I should name him. What should I name him...? He's that blue I love right now. I also got to talk to Amy from InspireCo while I was there. I had met her briefly at the Paris Flea Market but she was SO busy that day. It was nice to chat with her. I also went over to the outlet mall to hop into Old Navy. I got some good stuff for summer. A lot of my stuff is a bit too baggy for my liking anymore. Yes, this is a good thing. But I really don't have a bunch of money to be spending on clothes.
Saturday I picked up work on the top to my china cabinet again. I can't wait to finish. I hope it looks as good in my dining room as it does in my mind. Did some cleaning around the house.
Sunday I want to a little festival thing in my home town. Viva Vienna! We were only there for a short while (too hot) but I got to see my mom & one of my sisters as well as an Aunt & 2 um...second cousins(?) that I wasn't planning on seeing. Which was nice. My cousin (their mom) is having a birthday party for the little one on Saturday but Charlotte & I have tickets to the Vintage Virginia Wine Festival! I am SO very excited. Yummy. My friend Mary is coming up from Woodstock to come too. So much fun.
Monday, I almost finished off the cabinet. It still need a coat of tung oil, but then it can take its rightful place on top. Maybe Mom will give me her china now :o)

Oh, I also made some coaster sets from the pattern at The Purl Bee

P.S. I think I'll name him Rudy ;o)

chilly in hell?

It must be, because I WON something again! I'm just shocked. Frankly with all this good luck I'm a bit worried about what's coming.
I won these! Aren't they pretty?LeeAnn at MintBasil found them and was generous enough to give them away. Can you believe it? Thank you to LeeAnn! I've never been happier to be #2.

some necklaces

Things embedded in resin hung on either leather or cotton cording.
sorry for the glare.
There is a felt heart, a vintage 4 leaf clover button, a circle of fabric & a twig.
A simple bead pairing.

i won!

I can't believe I won. I won FFF at Sew Mama Sew. I've never won anything. I'm crazy excited. It was a much needed boost to my otherwise stressful day. It was a really hard decision but I chose Spa. I love brown & anything together, but I'm especially loving this shade of blue right now.

First and foremost I'd like to thank God, then of course the good people at Sew Mama Sew who pulled my name from the hat, and my parents because with out them I wouldn't be here today.

WOOHOO!

happy birthday charlotte!

Today is my sisters birthday she's 44. She is the closest sibling in age to me. When we were younger this meant she was the one I fought with the most. She was always ordering me to help her clean before Mom got home, and I was always pouting about it. She is crazy & loud & can put people off until they get to know her. She has one of the biggest hearts of anyone I know. She has been married to her high school sweetheart for 20+ years, and actually is the only one of my siblings to have never been divorced. She has 2 of the greatest kids ever (I'm not just saying that) I have other nieces & nephews...these two are great....not perfect...but great nonetheless. She is compassionate & sensitive & most of all fun as hell!

Just look at that cheesy smile. HA!

(she is the one in front. I'm on shoulders)

Happy Birthday Charlotte! I love you very much!

Not sure if I want to stick with the yellow or paint them brown? If anyone reads this and has an opinion, please share.

oops, i forgot

I also ment to post my little fabric tacks.

my final answer...i think

I am pretty sure these are the chairs (not from CL *gasp*, Slavation Army, the ones
I was hoping to own) that will be used with the new old dining room table

My husband doesn't like them. I'm not surprised, he doesn't see the big picture. Unless it's a car.

(if you look closely you can see my ripple blanket in progress on the table :oD)

Besides, he doesn't know about the FABULOUS fabric I planning on using to recover the seats.

I think it will be perfect with the "bamboo". Don't you?

I am so excited!
