$25.00 yard sale chair. Covered in green velvet

Pulling off the velvet revealed a really pretty needlepoint. Unfortunately the black background was completely faded.

LOVED the color, and its comfortable too!
For my sweet Niece Greta. I hope, hope, hope it fits.
Happy Friday!

It hangs in our tiny entry. I love it. More of what I bought once I tidy up a bit. Ugh, so much to do. How the heck can I finish projects when I have to clean??? Unfortunately my "studio" is also the computer room & guest room, so part of the cleaning IS the numerous projects I have in various stages of completion strewn about the living room. I know...I need a bigger house. Wish me luck.
Oh! As if everyone doesn't know already, 2 people who's talent & creativity I envy are on National television TOGETHER today. Anna Maria Horner & Martha! Alas, I'll have to catch it in reruns...work and all. Phooey. Don't tell me what happens, I want to be surprised.

Oh, and I did in fact frog my ripples. Only a few rows in and I already like it better.
Hard to photograph but trust me he's cute. I should name him. What should I name him...? He's that blue I love right now. I also got to talk to Amy from InspireCo while I was there. I had met her briefly at the Paris Flea Market but she was SO busy that day. It was nice to chat with her. I also went over to the outlet mall to hop into Old Navy. I got some good stuff for summer. A lot of my stuff is a bit too baggy for my liking anymore. Yes, this is a good thing. But I really don't have a bunch of money to be spending on clothes. P.S. I think I'll name him Rudy ;o)

I started stripping this weekend. It's definitely NOT perfect. But I'm not looking for perfect. Perfect would cost more than $65. This looks like it has been loved. I say this because removing the layers of paint have revealed a rather large ring stain on the top.
I love the stain.

Then recovered with some pretty fabric.

A bit of toile underneath.

Of course once I started to rip it apart (read: carefully deconstruct) I realized there was NO way in hell I was going to be able to do it. So I called in a professional and after much frustration got this.
I love it! Its really comfy too.
Soooooooo, when the guy was dropping it off I asked if he would take a look at my table legs to tell me what he would charge me to strip them. So he sees the table and....
offers me 3X what I paid for it. He picked it up last night.
Which I have been stripping etc. I'm done with the bottom 1/2 and now need to sand & re-stain the top display part. I also decided recently that I want a round dining room table. So I found one that was in my price range where the seller agreed to let the table go with out the chairs and it is real. Like actual wood. Mahogany in fact! How cool is that. The only problem is that it had these lion heads & claws on the pedestal. So totally different style than the cabinet & a royal pain in the ass to strip! I got both pieces on Craigslist (I love that site) I sold the pieces that these replaced on CL too. Hopefully I'll have some time to get back to it soon. I'm anxious to see it all done and together. Oh, and having a proper place to eat will be nice.
